About
I got my New Jersey firearms purchaser ID in May 2025 and bought a gun — the first of my life — that June. I trained with it, applied for my New Jersey permit to carry, and had it by August.
The training never stopped, and neither did the reading. The more range time I put in, the more I wanted to understand the industry around it, and the fight over the Second Amendment from its ratification in 1791 to the arguments still running today.
Optics came along for the whole ride: red dots and scopes across different pistols, semi-auto ARs, and now a bolt-action build. I like to tinker. Building something, taking it to the range, and watching it do what it's supposed to do is the part that keeps me coming back.

One project I'm documenting as it happens: my goal is to be able to carry in every state in the country. Fifty states, fifty sets of rules, permits and reciprocity to work through. I'll show each step as I take it — what worked, what it cost, and where I got stuck.
